Word Cloud
I noticed that a lot of people have used Wordle as well, but I wanted to try this one since I haven't used it before. It was fairly easy to use, and only took me about a minute to figure out how to play with fonts and colors. This could be fun to use in instruction in a lot of ways. It might be interesting to have students email you a list of words/phrases that they feel relate to a given topic you are about to research. Then you can copy/paste all of the student lists into Wordle and instantly see which words/phrases were most common. I also liked the idea we discussed in class where students could copy/paste text into it to see which words are most commonly used to give them clues about the main idea.

Infographic
Here is the link to my infographic. After talking with my internship librarian and teachers at the school, I realized that many of my coworkers simply don't know what the librarian can do for them. This is a simple infographic because I want it to be a quick, easy read for my coworkers so they understand exactly what the library can do for them. This infographic is based on what our current library at Douglas Elementary School does, and came about from conversations the librarian and I had about what she feels the teachers would best benefit from knowing about her library. At the elementary level, our library is a little less technology oriented than middle and high school libraries, but we are working on bringing more technology in. I like infographics because they quickly and easily organize information in an easy to digest format, because so many busy people today don't always take the time to sit and read paragraphs at a time. I think it would be fun to have the kids make infographics on important topics they research, especially if they are working on some sort of persuasive assignment.
